Tackling The Wedding List

Chances are if you are planning a wedding you have a list. A big list. Probably the biggest, and in a sense, the most important list that you've ever complied in your life. Every single soon-to-be-check-marked item on that list represents one thing you need to do to make sure your wedding is perfect. No matter how big or small, everything on that list is not to be taken lightly as failing to do even the most mundane thing can be cause for a ton of worrying and unnecessary stress. With that firmly in mind, you need to make sure that you don't leave the small stuff to the end. It's natural to think that this kind of stuff can be done in your spare time in the days leading up to the wedding. These things, which may include everything from wedding favors to table decorations may not be daunting on their own, but combine them together at the last moment and you'll find yourself with quiet a mountain to climb in the days leading up to the special day.

The most important things you can do when you put your list together is to think the whole process through. Separate things that are big things, and things that are small things into two separate lists. For example, purchasing a wedding dress is a bit thing; buying gifts for your wedding party is a small thing. Coming up with a menu that fits your needs is a big thing; figuring out what type of place card to put out on the table is a small thing. The thing about weddings is that the big things always have a tendency to get taken care of. Chances are nobody is going to forget about getting a wedding dress or feeding their guests, those are the first things you and your wedding planners will do together. That is why you need to tackle the small things first before you get overwhelmed with the big things.

There is no schedule that needs to be followed when planning the weddings. It's not like you need to wait until after you get the dress to pick up your wedding favors or anything, you can get them whenever you want. Make a big effort to get as many of the small stuff done before you even start thinking about the big stuff. Get the place cards done the same time as your doing the invitations, and purchase the wedding favors while you are online getting the gifts for the wedding party. This way you'll have everything done in the days leading up to the wedding.

So don't fear the list, embrace it. The only way your wedding is going to be a complete disaster is if you leave everything to the end. You may be able to get away with cramming when it comes to science class in high school, but not on your wedding day.
