Make Your Tuscan Wedding a Unique Experience

Tuscany is one of the premiere vacation destinations around the world. Millions of people visit the region to take in its natural beauty, sample and learn more about its famous wines, visit its incredible villages, many of which have preserved Roman and Renaissance era architecture and spend time hiking and biking through the countryside.

Tuscany is also an amazing location for a wedding, and many people plan this most important event in the region as way of creating a memorable event for the bride and groom, as well as their family and friends. Weddings in Tuscany will certainly stand out in the memory of attendees, and the thought of getting married in Tuscany is a dream that many people cherish.

Getting married in Tuscany, however, if you are not living in that area will require careful planning. Planning a Tuscan wedding will be a little different, and more logistically challenging, than for example planning a wedding at a local church. But holding your wedding services in Tuscany could be more than worth the requirement for extra planning.

Following is a checklist of items to consider as you begin to think about making your plans.

First, think about the cost involved in getting the wedding attendees to the event. While this is not a major concern for some people, the cost of traveling to Tuscany, in particular during the Spring and Summer months (the high season) can be prohibitively high for others. You want to balance the budgetary considerations of those in your wedding party with the joys of holding your wedding in such a picturesque location.

Second, survey the area for accommodations. Again, if your are planning an event to take place during the high tourist season, you will want to plan far in advance, in particular if you will need accommodations for a large number of people. Not only are hotels more expensive during these months, they fill up more quickly, so you made need to plan well in advance to ensure there is room for all invitees to stay.

Look at the possibilities for where the wedding is held. Certainly there are dozens of beautiful Cathedrals in the region to choose from. But you might also want to consider one of the local vineyards, or even just a simple hill overlooking the incredible beauty of the countryside. There are also any number of picturesque settings along the rivers that flow through the region. You want to again balance the cost and logistics considerations when choosing the location of the ceremony. A setting out in the country might be perfect in one respect, but might also require additional travel expense to get to from the nearest city with hotels.

Next, think about putting together a little travel guide for your guests. They will be coming a long way for your event, and certainly, the wedding will be the focus of their travels. But many will also want to get out and sample some of the incredible offerings of the region.
