2010 Cerebral Palsy Gold Medalist Olympics

The Olympics is for everyone who enjoys Winter and Summer Sports. "The Olympic Games" are a major international event, where thousands of athletes' participate in numerous competitions. These "Olympic Games" are held every two years.
To start training for the Olympics you will need to find a good sport education program. One that has excellent faculties and staff that is good at coaching new athletes'. Training, may take a long time in order to be able and win gold.
There are "Paralympic Games" for athletes' with a disability. Among these disabilities is cerebral palsy. Outstanding performances are being done with timely seconds or tenths of seconds behind those of able bodied athletes'.
The performances of athletes' with disabilities are proving themselves to be a strong force in the world of elite sport competition. An organizing structure called the "International Stroke Mandeville Games Committee" made this happen in July 1959.
The stage was set in 1960 for the first "Paralympic Games" opening the way for athletes' with disabilities to compete and achieve elite performance and recognition. These "Paralympic Games" are held every four years.
In 1980 athletes' with cerebral palsy competed for the first time. (CP- ISRA) "The Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association" is one of the fine disability programs known as "International Organizations of Sport for the Disabled" (IOSDS).
"The Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association" is the governing body sport for athletes that have cerebral palsy. These sports include:
•Football 7-a-side
•Boccia
•Race Runner
•Alpine Skiing
•Cycling
•Nordic Skiing
•Power lifting
•Swimming
•Table Tennis
There are several gold medalists that have won in the "Paralympics Sports" I would like to take the time to honor a few of these great inspired athletes.
In memory of 2008, Nick Scandone with his partner Maureen McKinnon- Tucker, won a gold medal in the "SKUD-18 Class". Nick Scandone was battling with ALS and passed away on January 2, 2009.
In "The Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Game" Viviane Forest (CAN.B2) with guide Lindsay Debou won gold at 1:27.51 time limit.
At Vancouver in the sled hockey four of the Western Newyorkers took home the gold. The athletes' include Brad Emmerson, Amherst, Adam Page Lancaster, Alexi Salamone, Grand Island and Mike Blabac, Buffalo.
Henrtieta Farkasora (SVK.B3) with guide Natalia Subrtora added a silver medal and a gold medal to her newest collectables after her big win in the "Visually Impaired" event.
There are so many more inspired talented athletes that are not mentioned which has won gold and silver awards in the Paralympics. Athletes' that have inspiring minds and mottos stick to and live by their dreams.
The Olympics and the Paralympics is all sport and fun. Let us not forget the long hard training that comes along with that fun. These games are for everyone no matter the abilities and disabilities. The key to success has always been to never give up, work hard and train well, be determined and stay motivated. Remember everyone is a winner and dreams can become reality

It is very amazing to see athletes suffering from brain damage or any other birth Injury competing in the Paralympic Games. Many people can learn a big lessen from these athletes for not giving up despite their disabilities.
