Melbourne River Cruises The Ideal First Date
| Melbourne is one of the most liveable cities in the world, with an endless array of activities for both tourists and locals alike to undertake. It is highly multicultural, resulting in an eclectic mix of opportunities not found any many other places around the world. Despite this, the Aussie male finds it very hard to think of a good idea for a first date with a girl. Even guys in a long term relationship still struggle to find something romantic or even fun to do with his partner for a key date, such as valentines day or birthday. One of the best gifts a man can get his girlfriend is a beautiful river cruise along Melbourne's river system or out in Port Phillip Bay. The city of Melbourne was built right on the port, and has a number of inner city waterways where boat cruises pass through. Places such as Southbank and the Docklands, where the Yarra River runs through, and out in the bay leaving from Williamstown and Port Melbourne are all very gorgeous, and have regular cruises operating for the general public. Women love to be treated to a thoughtful activity, and romantic Melbourne river cruises are the ideal night out. Some chartered boats only accept group bookings but a number of them have bookings for two, perfect for couples. You might also choose to take your date to an intimate dinner first. Melbourne is renowned for its restaurants, and there are plenty to choose from in areas where the cruises leave from - Docklands, Southbank, Williamstown, Port Melbourne. Make sure you leave plenty of time to eat your meal before the cruise as the charters are very punctual in their departure times. You'd hate to organise an amazing evening, only to have it ruined because you miss your plans! Smart planning is the key. A number of chartered river cruises also offer meals on the boat. This is a really good option as you don't need to try and time everything perfectly. And there's not much better than eating your meal while looking out the window and seeing the glistening water, and the lights of Melbourne slowly passing by. Most boats are fully licensed which means you can purchase alcohol on them too, another important ingredient in a romantic evening. Not only will you look great in your partner's eyes for the wonderful gesture and planning, you will also look great in her champagne filled eyes. Before you organise the date, make sure you find out (subtley if it's going to be a surprise) if she suffers from motion sickness or has any phobias regarding water. The last thing you want to do is go to all the trouble of setting up the cruise and a dinner, then finding out she has a bad time because the ride makes her feel uncomfortable. There are ways to find out without spoiling the surprise, such as asking her if she likes other activities on the water. Whatever the case, go with your heart, and show her a good time. Chances are, your effort alone will make it a memorable date for her. |
