I made a decision it was time to upgrade my computer and looked for several weeks for the right mix of price, hard drive, RAM, Bluetooth, battery, numeric keypad, etc . This laptop has it all. I assumed my replacement computer would be a second Mac since I purchased a Mac for my other half half a year ago. However with Windows 7 getting enthusiastic reviews and a price 1/3 of the price of an "equivalent" Mac, my decision was what computer did I desire. The DV6-1350 has all the features I was looking for including the new DDR3 RAM rather than DDR2 and Bluetooth. I also like having the twelve cell battery pack attached. The additional "bump" on the bottom doesn't trouble me. Ergonomically the keyboard is great. My last PC was an HP and I am happy with the trustworthiness. I am truly liking Windows seven in it's functionality. It starts up almost immediately from sleep mode. Win7 loads with sixty sec unlike my older HP with XP which now takes anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes. The twelve cell battery is difficult to find in a stock configuration, so that, plue 4GB of DDR3, and a 7200rmp hard drive, for this price is what made me buy. I want a firewire port too but I see plenty of USB firewire to USB connectors on Amazon. I setup the WIFI as an element of the original boot up ( just entered my SSID / code number for my WiFi Lan ), then loaded Microsoft Office and Vizio in about 10 mins and let them register on the web. Keyboard has a nice feel, typical of HP laptops, and I may add data to this review after doing some video modifying with height nine plus, Ulead and Sony Vegas. I am sure I'll need to Upgrade my DDR3 to 8GB so appreciate any suggestions / stats / costs anyone has on that. For the moment I am totally happy to the quality and features at this price which was impossible to find at another trusted site or store. So happy I worked out good laptops to buy! |
